What most think of are the traditional hinged doors, but sliding doors have a lot of advantages over hinged doors; there are a lot of styles that can add a lot of character to the decor of your house. There is one particular style that I really like.

The biggest advantage of sliding doors wood is they do not take up a lot of room. So if you have a small room you can maximize your space by using sliding doors.

Bypass sliding doors are doors that slide in front of or behind the other door. They are typically are used on pantries or closets.

Arcadia sliding doors are not wood sliding doors, but are made of glass. One door remains stationary, while the other slides in front. These are normally used as an entrance into a backyard or decks.

Pocket Doors are used when there is no room for a traditional door. Pocket doors slide along a track and disappear into the wall when open. They can be single or double doors, and they do add an architectural effect to the room when closed.

There are also many styles of sliding doors wood. You can use various wood color and wood grain blend, by using many different types of finishes. This brings out the natural beauty of the wood. However, you could choose to paint over the wood in any color that you choose. It comes down to an individual choice. By matching the wood doors with the room it can add a little flair to the room decor.

One very popular type and my favorite style of a sliding door is the sliding barn door. This can be made by using reclaimed wood or wood that has been treated to look weathered. A sliding barn door is bringing in a country-western style as they do look like something you would with a barn. However, it can add so much to the room’s atmosphere when you bring it inside.

It could go along with the room decor if you are going for a country western style or stand in contrast of more contemporary or modern looking room. No matter what type of style you are going for, it will attract a lot of attention from your visitors and they will love it.
